Why We Built This

For nearly a decade, I explored one question through my work at Arizona State University’s Interplanetary Initiative:

How do we build humanity’s future in space?

At first, the answer seemed obvious. Better rockets. Better habitats. Better technology.

But after convening hundreds of scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, educators, artists, and industry operators, a different pattern emerged.

Technology wasn’t the constraint. Coordination was.

The organizations shaping the future of space were making extraordinary progress, but largely in parallel. Knowledge remained fragmented. Priorities were disconnected. Collaboration depended more on individual relationships than repeatable systems.

The space economy wasn’t lacking innovation. It was lacking infrastructure for collective action.

That realization changed the question.

Instead of asking how to build the future of space, we began asking how to build the systems that allow people to build it together.

That realization answered what needed to change. Tim helped answer how. Please let me introduce you to Tim Struck - my husband, creative partner, and co-founder.

Where I saw systems,
Tim saw people.

As a brand strategist and designer, he understands that participation doesn’t begin with information. It begins with identity. People contribute when they can see where they belong, understand why their work matters, and recognize themselves in the future being created.

Those two perspectives became Space Rising. Not another organization competing for attention.

A framework that helps organizations coordinate around shared priorities. A repeatable model that captures collective intelligence, aligns regional stakeholders, and turns conversation into action.

Every region already has the expertise, yet what most regions lack is a common process for bringing that expertise together.

This Space Blueprint is that process.

Our role isn’t to decide the future. Our role is to make it easier for communities to build it together.
