Six Missions. One Future.
The future of space is shaped by six interconnected missions.
.01
Build Space
INFRASTRUCTURE
Build Space creates the physical and digital foundations that make every other mission possible. From launch facilities and advanced manufacturing to communications, energy, supply chains, and orbital systems, this mission develops the infrastructure that enables humanity to expand beyond Earth.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
Infrastructure is the foundation of every space capability. Nearly 100 countries have now placed satellites into orbit, 23 are pursuing national launch capabilities, and 11 are developing spaceports—demonstrating that investment in infrastructure has become a prerequisite for participating in the modern space economy.
.02
Move Through Space
MOBILITY
Move Through Space focuses on the transportation systems that connect Earth, orbit, the Moon, and beyond. It includes launch, propulsion, logistics, autonomous navigation, satellite servicing, and the movement of people, equipment, and resources throughout the space economy.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
The number of operational satellites doubled to roughly 6,700 between 2020 and the end of 2022, reflecting rapidly growing demand for launch, logistics, communications, and in-space transportation.
.03
Operate in Space
INTELLIGENCE
Operate in Space is the mission of understanding, monitoring, and managing activity across the space domain. It includes satellite operations, communications, Earth observation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, navigation, and space domain awareness.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
Space-based systems already support more than half of the critical infrastructure and services across OECD countries, including transportation, energy, food supply, public safety, and climate monitoring.
.04
Live in Space
LIFE
Live in Space explores what it takes for people to survive, adapt, and ultimately flourish beyond Earth. This mission includes human health, habitats, food systems, medicine, education, psychology, life support, and community design.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
Long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars require entirely new approaches to healthcare, sustainable food production, closed-loop life support, and habitat design. Technologies developed for these challenges frequently produce innovations that improve life on Earth.
.05
Prosper in Space
INDUSTRY
Prosper in Space creates lasting economic opportunity through manufacturing, entrepreneurship, workforce development, finance, investment, and commercial innovation. It transforms scientific breakthroughs into sustainable economic growth.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
Government space budgets across OECD countries reached approximately $75 billion in 2022, while commercial investment continues to expand across launch, manufacturing, communications, and satellite services—driving one of the fastest-growing technology markets in the world.

.06
Secure Space
DEFENSE
Secure Space ensures that the space domain remains safe, resilient, and dependable. It includes national security, cyber resilience, resilient communications, space domain awareness, critical infrastructure protection, and emergency response.
WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS
As governments and businesses become increasingly dependent on satellites for navigation, communications, weather forecasting, intelligence, and national security, protecting space assets has become essential to both economic resilience and public safety.
